Summer Makeup Trends 2020

Regardless of what our summer is going to look like this 2020, it’s always fun to check out what makeup trends are popping up for the new season. This year it’s all about working with what you’ve got (trust me), creating natural dewy skin, and a soft blush. Eyebrows are still in, and the bigger the better. Take a look at mega makeup artist Patrick Ta’s IG account and you’ll notice a lot of HD and feathered brows. Here are some of the hottest summer make up trends that you’ll want to give a try.

Neutral Basics for Zoom Chats

If you’ve been filling your virtual weekends with cocktail hours and Zoom hangouts, then a neutral makeup combo is hands down your look of choice. You can recreate this look in minutes with a lightweight brow gel and soft natural blush. Check out this list of best brow gels. I currently use #4, the Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel. Create that fresh dewy looking skin using a light skin tint or tinted moisturizer. Apply a little mascara and you’ll be refreshed and ready to go.

Ethical Choices and Sustainability

One of the biggest trends this year is sustainability. As we become more aware of where our beauty products are coming from, it affects our purchasing decisions. There has been a wave of new eco-friendly makeup brands that market their products as ethically sourced and not tested on animals. Vegan and cruelly free products are two things to look for when it comes to eco-friendly. Check out this cruelty free lipstick for instance. You can look great every day while being sustainable.

Pastel Palettes

Pastel lavender, pink and yellow are trending for eyeshadow right now, so keep a palette of these handy. Don’t know where to start? Here is a list of pastel palettes reviewed by beauty bloggers, including both matte and shimmering shades.

Pucker up With Pink

For lips, it’s all about hot pink and bright watermelon colors. And if you’re not feeling the gloss, go for a smudge-free pout using setting powder or spray. These are also must-have essentials in hot weather to touch up mid-day. Pink is definitely a mood this summer, so enhance your look with a complimenting blush and pastel eye shadow. Feathered Eyebrows

Feathered eyebrows are a perfect low maintenance look for the summer. Instead of pencils or powders, opt for a light brow gel to boost your natural brow hairs. And while the salons are still closed, you could try and create HD brows at home. There are SO many tutorials online if you want to know more.

Stick to Soft Blush

Ok this is the part about working with what your Mama gave you. Your skin and the natural flush that comes with it is going to be your best friend this summer. Dewy skin and a light warm pink blush are what it’s all about. Apply a light couple of swipes of blush only, and create a simple natural look that’s easy to build on. Glamour magazine just reviewed the best blush powders, creams, and wands for the summer.

Remember to make the right choice for your skin tone. Here is a list of tips on tricks on how to know which blush to go for. Work with your natural features this summer for a flawless look. You got this! ✨?✨

Back to Blogging

pink sunset clouds sky key west

Hey, it’s been a while since I’ve been writing on this blog. Personally, 2019 was a wild year for me. A lot of ups and downs that were life changing, amazing, and terrible. I had just gotten out of a 4-year relationship. A few months later, I had signed with one of the best modeling agencies in the world and had a family emergency within the same week. My father passed in December 2019, and fast forward to May 2020, here we are in the middle of a global pandemic. I’ve been spending my shelter in place at the home I grew up in outside Philadelphia.

I know it’s been tough for everyone. We really are all in this together. I haven’t been to a casting in two months, and the modeling industry is going to change much like every other industry. It’s been a different pace not being around brilliant creatives and artists every day. I don’t know if it’s normal, but I feel the need to constantly do something or create. I’ve been cooking with love and practicing the piano as a therapeutic way to stay sane. And now I’ve turned back to blogging!

I saw this one post from a friend that says everybody is an addict. I don’t smoke, but I know people who smoke because it gives them something to do with their hands. Let’s try to pick up better habits that lead to fulfillment. ❤️

I started a YouTube channel too, so subscribe and check out my videos!
